We are Kirill komar and varia Garib, a directing duo based in Vienna. Kirill moved from Ukraine to Germany as a child, while Varia, born in Uzbekistan, lived in several countries before settling in Austria. We share a profound sense of alienation, which deeply informs our artistic work. Refusing to believe that cinema is dead, we uphold its legacy while striving to redefine its language. Drawing on our diverse heritage, we explore eternal themes such as youth, death, sense of belonging, loneliness, and love - always guided by the search for inner peace.
